Tech Talk Thursday #20-Please Rob Me

Can’t believe that I made it to the 20th edition of Triple T. It has been great and I have learned a lot along the way. Going to touch on a couple of things this week, including an iPhone app.

Here is a website that everyone should be aware of. It is a listing of everyone on Twitter that has updated their status to tell the world where they are in the world. Evidently, all they are doing are searching for @foursquare on Twitter and putting it on the site. As you are there it will update and tell you how many new “opportunities” there are.

Obviously the intent is not to get people robbed but make them aware of the dangers of putting your whereabouts on Twitter or even on Facebook.

Ever been to one of the big box stores and wondered how much you could save on an item by ordering it online? Well, here is the the solution for that little problem. You can use RedLaser to check prices on any item. You simply scan the UPC on the item and it goes out and gets the prices from Google and other places on the Internet.

I found the scanning to be a little harder on some items but I think that it has to do with the lighting around the UPC. If you can’t get it to scan then you can manually enter the number and it will do it’s thing. At $1.99 this is a great app.

As of today, there are six more days left in MacHeist. You can get this bundle of software valued at $266 for the low price of $19.95. That is a huge savings over the normal prices if you bought these applications individually. I did get the bundle and there are some awesome apps.

My favorite application in this bundle is MacJournal. I’ve been using this app since version 3 and just upgraded last week to the current version so I could use it on my new MacBook. This program sells for $40 alone and is well worth the $20 price tag for the entire MacHeist bundle. Get it today! Time is running out.

That’s going to do me for this week. Thanks for stopping and hope to see you back here next week.

Pricecheckah is better than RedLaser. It uses the same great redlaser barcode scanner, but gives you results from Amazon, eBay, walmart, overstock, as well as Google. It even let’s you put in your own stores.

    And at only 99c.
